Summary

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. In regard to drugs for the treatment of organ transplantation, requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to develop protocols, including a standardized, prior authorization system for prescribing medications, with healthcare providers primarily serving those with compromised immune systems, as long as such measures intend to maintain cost neutrality. Effective immediately.
