| 1 | AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2371

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2371 as follows:

| 3 | on page 8, by replacing lines 7 through 12 with the following: | ||||||
| 4 | "(ii) has been the foster parent of a child in the | ||||||
| 5 | custody or guardianship of the Department pursuant to this | ||||||
| 6 | Act and the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 for a minimum of one | ||||||
| 7 | year, has established a significant and family-like | ||||||
| 8 | relationship with the child, and has been identified by the | ||||||
| 9 | Department as the child's permanent connection, as defined | ||||||
| 10 | by Department rule. The fictive kin relationship under this | ||||||
| 11 | paragraph (ii) continues as long as the child remains | ||||||
| 12 | placed in the home of the foster parent.".
