Code
2021,
is
amended
to
read
as
follows:

(5)
Fees
collected
in
excess
of
the
amount
needed
for
the

purposes
specified
in
this
subsection
shall
be
used
by
the
4
county
land
record
information
system
to
reduce
or
eliminate
5
service
fees
for
electronic
submission
of
documents
and
6
instruments.
Additionally,
the
county
land
record
information
7
system
may
use
excess
service
fees
collected
from
the
8
electronic
submission
of
documents
and
instruments
to
fund
the
9
processing
of
documents
and
instruments
to
identify
and
redact
10
any
personally
identifiable
information
in
recorded
documents
11
and
instruments,
improve
the
consistency
and
accessibility
of
12
land
records
information,
and
facilitate
integrations
with
13
other
land
records
information
systems.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does

This
bill
relates
to
fees
collected
by
a
county
recorder
18
for
filing
or
recording
an
instrument
in
the
county
recorder’s
19
office.
Current
law
requires
a
county
recorder
to
collect
fees
20
for
filing
or
recording
instruments
in
the
county
recorder’s
21
office,
which
fees
shall
be
used
for
purposes
specified
by
law.

If
fees
collected
exceed
the
amount
necessary
to
fulfill
those
23
specified
purposes,
the
county
land
record
information
system
24
shall
use
the
excess
fees
to
reduce
or
eliminate
service
fees
25
for
electronic
submission
of
documents
and
instruments.
The

bill
authorizes
the
county
land
record
information
system
to
27
also
use
excess
service
fees
collected
from
the
electronic
28
submission
of
documents
and
instruments
to
fund
the
processing
29
of
documents
and
instruments
to
identify
and
redact
any
30
personally
identifiable
information
in
recorded
documents
and
31
instruments,
improve
the
consistency
and
accessibility
of
land
32
records
information,
and
facilitate
integrations
with
other
33
land
records
information
systems.
