Section
152C.3,
subsection
3,
Code
2021,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

massage
therapist
licensed
pursuant
to
this
chapter

be

license
number
and
a
license
certificate.

pursuant
to
this
subsection
shall

include
a
photograph
of
the
licensee.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
relates
to
the
practice
of
massage
therapy.
The
18
bill
requires
a
license
certificate
issued
to
a
licensed
19
massage
therapist
to
include
a
photograph
of
the
licensee.

The
bill
also
adds
licensed
massage
therapists
to
the
list
of
21
persons
required
to
report
child
and
dependent
adult
abuse.
22
By
operation
of
law,
such
persons
are
required
to
complete
23
training
regarding
the
identification
and
reporting
of
child
24
and
dependent
adult
abuse,
and
the
board
of
massage
therapy
25
is
required
to
require
the
completion
of
such
training
as
26
a
condition
of
licensure.
A
person
required
to
report
a
27
suspected
case
of
child
or
dependent
adult
abuse
who
knowingly
28
and
willfully
fails
to
do
so
is
guilty
of
a
simple
misdemeanor.
29
A
simple
misdemeanor
is
punishable
by
confinement
for
no
more
30
than
30
days
and
a
fine
of
at
least
$105
but
not
more
than
$855.
31
A
person
required
to
report
suspected
child
or
dependent
adult
32
abuse
who
knowingly
fails
to
do
so
is
civilly
liable
for
the
33
damages
proximately
caused
by
such
a
failure.
