This
bill
relates
to
the
reporting
requirements
of
the
6
department
of
education’s
commission
on
educator
leadership
and
7
compensation.

Current
law
requires
the
department
of
education
to
9
establish
a
commission
on
educator
leadership
and
compensation,
10
which
is
tasked
with,
among
other
things,
monitoring
the
11
implementation
of
the
frameworks
and
comparable
systems
by
12
school
districts
pursuant
to
Code
section
284.15
(Iowa
teacher
13
career
paths,
leadership
roles,
and
compensation
framework),
14
Code
section
284.16
(instructional
coach
model),
and
Code
15
section
284.17
(comparable
system
criteria).
Under
current
16
law,
the
commission
is
required
to
submit
an
annual
report
to
17
the
director
of
the
department
of
education,
the
governor,
and
18
the
general
assembly
containing
the
commission’s
findings
and
19
any
recommendations,
including
recommendations
for
changes
20
to
the
framework
established
in
Code
section
284.15,
and
21
the
comparable
systems
set
forth
in
Code
sections
284.16
22
and
284.17,
and
for
changes
to
Code
section
284.11
(state
23
supplemental
assistance
for
high-need
schools).
The
bill
24
strikes
this
reporting
requirement.
