A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO ENERGY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. (a) The department of business, economic development, and tourism shall partner with the United States Department of Energy to establish an office of science national laboratory in the Kalaeloa community development district established pursuant to section 206E-193, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
(b) The department of business, economic
development, and tourism shall submit to the legislature, no later than twenty
days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2019, a report of its progress, challenges, and resource
needs in pursuit of establishing an office of science national laboratory.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
