THE SENATE	S.B. NO.	3083
TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE, 2014
STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to school athletics.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to make an appropriation to restore resources for school athletics.  This Act also increases the positions authorized for school athletics.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $        or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2014-2015 for the athletics program of the department of education (EDN100/BM).

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  The department of education is authorized to create, fill, and fund       full-time equivalent permanent or temporary positions for fiscal year 2014-2015 for its athletics program (EDN100/BM).

     SECTION 4.  The appropriation and position authorization of this Act shall be additional to the appropriation and position ceiling in Act 134, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013, as may be amended, for the athletics program of the department of education (EDN100/BM).

     SECTION 5.  The legislature intends that the additional appropriation and positions be included in the department of education's base budget from the fiscal year 2015-2016.

     SECTION 6.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2014.
