A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO MEDICAL CANNABIS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 329-121, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending the definition of "usable cannabis" to read as follows:

     ""Usable cannabis" means the dried leaves and flowers of [the plant Cannabis family Moraceae,] a plant from the genus Cannabis, and any mixture or preparation thereof, that [are appropriate] the patient has designated as the necessary form of cannabis for [the] medical use [of cannabis].  "Usable cannabis" does not include the seeds, stalks, and roots of the plant."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
