A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RElating to an art education facility.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $13,250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to the Honolulu Academy of Arts, doing business as the Honolulu Museum of Art, for the purposes of funding the "Our Museum, Our Community, Our Future" initiative, an architecturally significant building project to be constructed adjacent to the Honolulu Museum of Art School (Linekona), which will include the construction of community art learning spaces, studio art classrooms, an art education knowledge center, a library, and parking.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
