STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE DIAMOND HEAD SEAWALL.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that the Diamond Head seawall, which runs along the Waikiki Gold Coast near the Diamond Head end of Kalakaua avenue, is in dire need of repair.  The legislature further finds that the circuit court of the first circuit in Gold Coast Neighborhood Association v.      The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for the planning, design, and construction costs associated with assessing, repairing, and maintaining the Diamond Head seawall.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $3,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2015-2016 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2016-2017 for planning, design, and construction costs associated with assessing, repairing, and maintaining the Diamond Head seawall.

The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
