HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

congratulating norman chow for being named the head coach of the university of hawaii manoa football team.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, the University of Hawaii Manoa Football Team has served as a point of pride and enjoyment for thousands of Hawaii football fans; and

 

     WHEREAS, games played by the University of Hawaii Manoa Football Team have been and continue to be the most attended sports events in the State; and

 

     WHEREAS, Norman Chow has been hired as the new head coach for the University of Hawaii Manoa Football team; and

 

     WHEREAS, Coach Chow is an island son, having grown up in Palolo Valley and attended Punahou School; and

 

     WHEREAS, Coach Chow has had a long and admirable coaching career, beginning as head coach at Waialua High School on the North Shore from 1970-1972, followed by 27 years at Brigham Young University, a year at North Caroline State, four years at the University of Southern California, three years at UCLA, one year at his alma mater, Utah, and three years as offensive coordinator for the NFL's Tennessee Titans; and

 

     WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii looks forward to Coach Chow bringing his abilities and extensive experience to the University of Hawaii Manoa Football Program; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2012, that the House of Representatives congratulates Norman Chow of being named head coach of the University of Hawaii Manoa Football Team and wishes him the greatest success and many winning seasons ahead.
