HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

Honoring the boy scouts of america, aloha Council and maui county COUNCIL, AND THEIR BOARD MEMBERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND SUPPORTERS IN HAWAII.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, the true essence of the "Aloha Spirit" is epitomized by the energetic and enthusiastic efforts of our youth to selflessly assist their fellow citizens in improving the conditions of our community and state; and

                                               

     WHEREAS, for more than 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America has established a proud tradition of effectively developing the bodies and minds of Hawaii's young men to prepare the future leaders of our state and nation to meet the unforeseen challenge of an expanding, dynamic society; and

                                                

     WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America has continually sought to develop the potential of Hawaii's young men by encouraging scouts to strive toward life's highest goals, and training them to be physically fit, confident, mentally alert, and responsible active citizens; and

 

     WHEREAS, with headquarters in Honolulu, the Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council supports scouting units around the Pacific Basin, including Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Marianas, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, and Palau; and

 

     WHEREAS, with headquarters in Wailuku, Maui, the Boy Scouts of America, Maui County Council serves the islands of Molokai, Lanai and Maui; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, that this body hereby expresses its sincere appreciation to the Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council and Maui County Council, for the organizations' consistent and outstanding acts of community service with Hawaii's youth, and extends to the Councils' scouts, board members, volunteers, and supporters its heartfelt aloha and best wishes in all future endeavors.
