HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

HONORING THREE retired veterans who are UNSUNG HEROES WHO continue to give back to the state of hawaii.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, the Hawaii State House of Representatives is proud to recognize military veterans who continue to serve Hawaii; and

 

     WHEREAS, ADMIRAL RON HAYS, a retired U.S. Naval officer and a Vietnam veteran, is a Chairman Emeritus of the Pacific Aviation Museum, and continues to be a force in the leadership of what has become one of Hawaii’s top Visitor attractions, offering education through a Patriotic experience; and

 

     WHEREAS, REAR ADMIRAL LLOYD R. "JOE" VASEY served valiantly on submarines during World War II in the Pacific, and later created the Pacific Forum/Center for Strategic and International Studies; and

 

     WHEREAS, ROBERT T. "TIM" GUARD served in the Navy in Vietnam, and is now involved with the Duke Kahanamoku Foundation, and has leadership roles in the Navy League—Honolulu Council, the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the Hawai‘i Youth Challenge Academy, and the Marimed Foundation; and

 

     WHEREAS, their selfless service and dedication to their country, community, and fellow service members deserves to be recognized; now, therefore,


 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-seventh Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2014, that this body hereby honors these unsung heroes for their continued service to the State of Hawaii.
