HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

CALLING FOR A JOINT SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPOINTING THE ombudsman, THE DIRECTOR OF THE LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE BUREAU, AND THE auditor.

 

 

 

WHEREAS, section 96-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, provides that the Legislature, by a majority vote of each house in joint session, shall appoint an Ombudsman who shall serve for a period of six years; and

 

WHEREAS, section 23G-1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, provides that the Legislature, by a majority vote of each house in joint session, shall appoint a Director for the Legislative Reference Bureau who shall serve for a period of six years; and

 

WHEREAS, Article VII, section 10, of the Constitution of the State of Hawaii, provides that the Legislature, by a majority vote of each house in joint session, shall appoint an Auditor who shall serve for a period of eight years; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-eighth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2016, the Senate concurring, that the two houses of the Legislature assemble in joint session in the chambers of the House of Representatives on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 12:00 noon for the purpose of appointing Robin K. Matsunaga as Ombudsman, Charlotte A. Carter-Yamauchi as Director of the Legislative Reference Bureau, and Leslie H. Kondo as Auditor, whose terms shall commence on May 1, 2016.
