A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the fourth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The fourth representative district encompasses the area of Puna, Pahoa, Kalapana, and Hawaiian Acres on the island of Hawaii.

     The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for the capital improvement projects for the fourth representative district.

     SECTION 2.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010 to be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii

          Design and construction of a covered walkway to portables P10 and P11.

                   Total funding                     $200,000

     B.   Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii

          Design and construction of a parking lot extension.

                   Total funding                     $400,000

     C.   Keonepoko elementary school, Hawaii

          Upgrades to the school's electrical system.

                   Total funding                     $435,000

     D.   Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii

          Design and construction of a cafeteria facility for the school.

                   Total funding                   $9,000,000

     E.   Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii

          Renovation and repair of the administration building classrooms.

                   Total funding                   $8,000,000

     F.   Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii

          Upgrades to the school's electrical system.

                   Total funding                     $909,000

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 2 shall be expended by the designated agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
