A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE THIRTY-FIFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2018-2019:

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Manana elementary school, Oahu

Design and construction to extend the fire lane; and ground and site improvements.

          Design                                  $200,000

          Construction                          $2,000,000

          Total funding                         $2,200,000

     B.   Pearl City high school, Oahu

Design and construction to renovate existing classrooms and other support facilities; and ground and site improvements.

          Design                                  $300,000

          Construction                          $3,000,000

          Total funding                         $3,300,000

     C.   Pearl City high school, Oahu

Design, construction, and equipment to replace the gym bleachers; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $200,000

          Construction                            $500,000

          Equipment                             $1,500,000

          Total funding                         $2,200,000

     D.   Pearl City high school, Oahu

Design and construction for a restroom facility at the baseball field; and ground and site improvements.

          Design                                  $500,000

          Construction                          $5,000,000

          Total funding                         $5,500,000

     E.   Pearl City high school, Oahu

Design and construction to resurface the tennis courts; ground and site improvements.

          Design                                  $200,000

          Construction                          $2,000,000

          Total funding                         $2,200,000

     F.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

Construction for phases one and two of a new classroom building; ground and site improvements.

          Construction                         $20,500,000

          Total funding                        $20,500,000

     G.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

Design and construction for a new DREAMS building for digital media, robotics, engineering and electronics, animation, music, and science classes; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $200,000

          Construction                         $23,400,000

          Total funding                        $23,600,000

     H.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

          Design and construction for additional multi-purpose play courts and to retrofit existing play courts; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $700,000

          Construction                          $4,300,000

          Total funding                         $5,000,000

     I.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

          Design and construction to make improvements to the parking lot; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $200,000

          Construction                          $1,700,000

          Total funding                         $1,900,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
