A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the forty-ninth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $3,813,500 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2016-2017 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the forty-ninth representative district, as follows:

Department of education

1.   James B. Castle high school, Oahu

Renovate existing classroom to support digital media/video productions pathway and new partnership with Olelo.

          Total funding                    $150,000

2.   James B. Castle high school, Oahu

Widen entrance to accommodate a new security kiosk.

          Total funding                    $200,000

3.   Kaneohe elementary school, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction of a prefabricated modular energy positive portable classroom.

     Plans                                   $1,000

     Design                                 $65,000

     Construction                          $475,000

          Total funding                    $541,000

4.   Kapunahala elementary school, Oahu

Resurface parking lot.

          Total funding                    $300,000

5.   Kapunahala elementary school, Oahu

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for two portable classrooms.

          Total funding                    $400,000

6.   Maunawili elementary school, Oahu

Design, construction, and equipment for campus-wide electrical upgrade.

7.   Olomana school, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction to expand physical education portable building.

Plans, design, construction, and equipment to enclose second floor stairways of B and C buildings.

1.   Hawaii state veterans cemetery, Oahu

Clear, regrade, and re-establish hillside terraces and drainage swales.

Replace traffic warning and informational signs and placards.

          Total funding                     $15,000

3.   Hawaii state veterans cemetery, Oahu

Tree removal and trimming along the perimeter of cemetery to provide ten-foot setback.

          Total funding                    $350,000

4.   Hawaii state veterans cemetery, Oahu

Tree trimming and removal at maintenance facility.

          Total funding                     $75,000

5.   Hawaii state veterans cemetery, Oahu

Repair and reseal roads and parking lot.

          Total funding                    $197,000

Department of land and natural resources

1.   Maunawili trail, Oahu

Plan and design a parking area for hikers going to Maunawili trail.

     Plans                                 $100,000

     Design                                $100,000

          Total funding                    $200,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the appropriate expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
