A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to holidays.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§8-A Designated holidays; furloughs; collective bargaining. Any day that is designated as a holiday pursuant to this chapter may be used for the purposes of furloughs for public employees, subject to collective bargaining under chapter 89."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
