A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the department of commerce and consumer affairs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 26H-2.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:
"[[]§26H‑2.5[]]
Impact of inclusion. The inclusion of any regulatory program into the
provisions of this chapter shall not be held to confer any regulatory authority
or jurisdiction on any department [which] that does not otherwise
have jurisdiction. In particular, the department of commerce and consumer
affairs shall not be conferred any authority or jurisdiction not directly
conferred by assignment of a regulatory measure to that department."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
