A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Thirty-first REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $26,261,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirty-first representative district, as follows:
1. Admiral Arthur W. Radford high school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for renovation of the gymnasium bathrooms and boys' and girls' locker rooms to include shower, basins, and toilets.

Construction $3,000,000
Equipment $500,000
Total funding $3,700,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Admiral Arthur W. Radford high school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for renovation and modernization of the band room to include ceiling, acoustics, bathrooms, flooring, storage, and practice rooms.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Aiea elementary school
Design, construction, and equipment for campus-wide covered walkways with a solar canopy over the parking lot.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Aiea intermediate school
Plans, land, design, construction, and equipment for a sustainable outdoor covered playcourt for physical education and learning space with weather protection.

Design, construction, and equipment for electrical upgrade and air conditioning improvements, ground and site improvements, equipment and appurtenances.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
9. Moanalua elementary school
Design, construction, and equipment for a multi-purpose innovation center, ground and site improvements, equipment and appurtenances.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
11. Moanalua middle school
Plans, construction, and equipment for the replacement of the existing cafeteria window louvers with double pane, tinted aluminum awning windows.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
