A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to public works projects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 104, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§104- Exemption; unpaid interns. This
part shall not apply to an unpaid intern who is enrolled in a department of education
program and participates in a public works project as part of the program requirements."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
