A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mr. Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Coffee, Jr.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Mr. Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Coffee, Jr., on January 24, 2009;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coffee was born on August 22, 1942, in Habersham County, Georgia, the
beloved son of the late Pearl Mozill Yarber Coffee and Woodrow Wilson, Sr.;
and
WHEREAS,
a devout and faithful man, Mr. Coffee was an active member of Mt. View Baptist
Church; and
WHEREAS,
an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Coffee served as a member of the Walkinshaw Hunting
Club and the founder of the Chattahoochee Bass Club, Woody's Taxidermy, and
Woody's Campfire Talk; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coffee was united in love and marriage to Rose Baker Coffee and was blessed
to know the love of two sons, one daughter, two stepsons, 11 grandchildren, and
five great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished Georgian leaves behind loving family, caring neighbors, and
loyal friends who will cherish his memory and the wonderful times shared, and
all who were privileged to know him join his family in mourning his
loss.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
honoring the life and memory of Mr. Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Coffee, Jr. and
expressing its appreciation of his many contributions to his community and the
State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Coffee, Jr.
