A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Ryan "R.D." Daniel; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Ryan "R.D." Daniel on January 26, 2012; and
WHEREAS,
R.D. grew up in Buford, Georgia, a beloved son of Sandra and Ron Daniel and
adored brother of Dara Daniel; and
WHEREAS,
he excelled at several sports, including football, leading the 1999 Buford
Wolves to a 10-2 season prior to signing a football scholarship with Catawba
College in North Carolina; and
WHEREAS,
moving back to his home town after college, R.D. not only taught special
education and coached the ninth grade offensive line at Buford High School, but
also coached basketball at Buford Middle School; and
WHEREAS,
in his honor, his old teammates have organized a Ryan Daniel Scholarship Fund
administered by Peoples Bank and Trust; and
WHEREAS,
he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he
demonstrated to his family, friends, and students were admired by others;
and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he
made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
a compassionate and generous man, R.D. will long be remembered for his love of
family and friendship, and this loyal son, brother, and friend will be missed by
all who had the great fortune of knowing him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
honoring the life and memory of Ryan "R.D." Daniel and express their deepest and
most sincere regret at his passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Ryan "R.D."
Daniel.
