RESOLUTION
Commending
Sarah Hornik on her selection by the Georgia Art Education Association for
Gilbert Elementary School fifth grade; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Sarah Hornik is an outstanding fifth grade student attending Gilbert Elementary
School in Walker County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
her artwork was selected by the Georgia Art Education Association to represent
her school and be placed on exhibit in the Capitol Art Exhibit in the Twin
Towers Building in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 11, 2009; and
WHEREAS,
the Capitol Art Exhibit is one of the most important and distinguished art
exhibits for the display of young artists' work in this state; and
WHEREAS,
quality education for the young people of this state includes an opportunity to
explore and communicate important ideas and passions through the medium of art
and the display of meaningful artistic creations; and
WHEREAS,
Sarah Hornik has proven herself to be a talented and accomplished artist, and
through her dedication, hard work, and extraordinary accomplishments, she stands
as a shining example for other young people in this state to
follow.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Sarah Hornik for her efforts and accomplishments and express to her their
sincerest best wishes for continued success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sarah Hornik.
