A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Wallace Glover; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Mr. Wallace Glover on December 25, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Glover was born on July 14, 1948, in Newnan, Georgia, a beloved son of the late John Littleton Glover and Margaret Miller Glover; and

WHEREAS, this great Georgian attended Newnan High School and graduated from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1966 and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in 1970; and

WHEREAS, during his life, Mr. Glover was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and was the owner of Coweta-Fayette Title Group, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Glover was united in love and marriage to Kay Hanson Glover on May 28, 1977, and was blessed with three remarkable sons, Wallace, Jr., Michael, and Kelley; and

WHEREAS, passionate about golf and spending time with his family, Mr. Glover was an avid sports fan who enjoyed coaching his children in soccer, baseball, basketball, and golf; and

WHEREAS, this generous and devoted father instilled the spirit of competition and the importance of good sportsmanship in his sons and all who were privileged to know this extraordinary Georgian join his family in mourning his loss.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body hereby joins in honoring the life and memory of Mr. Wallace Glover and expressing its appreciation of his devotion and dedication to his family and his many contributions to his community and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Glover's family.
