A
RESOLUTION
Commending
Major General Ronald L. Bailey and inviting him to be recognized by the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put their
personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the
freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and
WHEREAS,
a native of St. Augustine, Florida, Major General Ronald L. Bailey earned a
bachelor's degree in biology from Austin Peay State University and a master's
degree in business management and administration from Webster University;
and
WHEREAS,
he is a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States
Marine Corps, having served as a Series Commander, Battalion S-3 and Commanding
Officer of Company F, 2d Recruit Training Battalion; and
WHEREAS,
Major General Bailey has served as Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruit
Depot and Western Recruiting Region in San Diego, California; and
WHEREAS,
he has been recognized with numerous honors and accolades for his military
service, including a Defense Superior Service Medal with bronze oak leaf, a
Legion of Merit with combat V, a Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars,
a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, a Navy and Marine
Corps Achievement Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, and a Combat Action
Ribbon; and
WHEREAS,
Major General Bailey embodies the spirit of service, willing to find meaning in
something greater than himself while serving as a guardian of this nation's
freedom, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding
accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished American be recognized
appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Major General Ronald L. Bailey for his deep personal
commitment to protecting democracy, recognize the selfless service he has made
to this country, and invite him to be recognized by the House of Representatives
at a date and time to be determined by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Major General
Ronald L. Bailey.
