RESOLUTION
Commending
Elaine Myers; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
it is a not so closely guarded secret that the primary reason for the successful
operation of a standing committee of the House of Representatives is the quality
of its administrative assistant; and
WHEREAS,
while all of the administrative assistants under the Gold Dome are superbly
qualified, there is one whose service to this state has reached a level all its
own, and that individual is Elaine Myers; and
WHEREAS,
Elaine has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of this state as evidenced
dramatically by her decades of superlative service to the General Assembly, but
most especially, since 2008, as administrative assistant for the House
Committee on Ways and Means; and
WHEREAS,
her equanimity, professionalism, and good will served her in good stead as she
exercised her many duties on behalf of all of the members of this body and in
particular the gentleman from the 146th District, whom she has saved from
disaster time and time again; and
WHEREAS,
no matter what the task, no matter the hour of day or night, Elaine answers the
call with peerless professionalism, proficiency, and punctuality as she
addresses the endless parade of behind the scene details which must be attended
to on a daily basis; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the
members of the General Assembly have earned her the respect and admiration of
her colleagues and associates and are without question the primary reason for
the successful functioning and operation of the House Committee on Ways and
Means; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; her loyalty, competency, reliability, and enthusiasm have distinguished her superlative service to this state; and her friendship is counted by everyone under the Gold Dome as a special experience they will always treasure; and

WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Elaine Myers for her many, many years of efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of this state; express
their gratitude for all that she has done to help the members of this body over
those years of gracious service; and extend to her their most sincere best
wishes for continued health and happiness.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Elaine Myers.
