A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Georgia Great Steak Cook-off in Jeff Davis County as the official Steak Cook-off Championship Competition for the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the 2011 Georgia Great Steak Cook-off, sponsored by the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis County Chamber of Commerce, will be held in Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis County on March 5, 2011; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Great Steak Cook-off is an immensely popular event that attracts competitors, judges, vendors, musicians, artists, and tourists from all parts of Georgia as well as throughout the United States; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Great Steak Cook-off competition consists of teams from all throughout Georgia and the United States entering to show off their grilling techniques; and

WHEREAS, this fun-filled event culminates with a steak dinner for the steak lovers in attendance; and

WHEREAS, Georgians are noted for their love of steak, and the cooks of the Georgia Great Steak Cook-off have accepted the challenge to provide superior cuisine to satisfy the most discriminating of palates; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Great Steak Cook-off will provide delicious steak and wholesome family entertainment with cash prizes and trophies awarded to the most masterfully cooked steaks and it is only fitting and proper that this event be officially recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize the Georgia Steak Cook-Off in Jeff Davis County as the official Steak Cook-Off Championship Competition for the State of Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis County Chamber of Commerce.
