A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mrs. Julie Jordan; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Julie Jordan, also known as "The Boss," has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her 25 years of superlative service as an administrative assistant with the Georgia General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, she has expertly supported each and every one of the nearly 30 Representatives that she has worked for; and

WHEREAS, an extraordinary woman of patience, Mrs. Jordan's wealth of knowledge and willingness to share that knowledge transfer into every phone call from a constituent and to her assistance to the Representatives during the frenzied rush of busy legislative days; and

WHEREAS, from working in a small room, at a single desk, with other secretaries who typed letters from dictation on typewriters, to today where she e-mails her Representatives instantly and anchors Suite 504 with the same personal attention, this office would not be the same without her; and

WHEREAS, she is united in love and marriage to Bruce and together they are blessed with two remarkable children, Ashley and Hayden, an adored son-in-law, James, and two wonderful grandchildren, Hannah and Wyatt; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Jordan's significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mrs. Julie Jordan for being an absolute pleasure to work with and for 25 years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia, and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Julie Jordan.
