RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Cancer Treatment Centers of America; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) will open the doors of its new
regional hospital in Newnan, Georgia, to patients and their families from across
the Southeast in August of 2012; and
WHEREAS,
CTCA specializes in complex and advance stage cancer care; and
WHEREAS,
CTCA has delivered the Mother Standard of care and Patient Empowerment Medicine
since its inception in 1988; and
WHEREAS,
CTCA is committed to providing all the information cancer patients and their
families need, empowering them to make treatment decisions that are best for
them; and
WHEREAS,
the CTCA Patient Empowerment Care model combines state-of-the-art clinical
treatment and technology with an array of complementary therapies to help manage
side effects and improve quality of life; and
WHEREAS,
more than two-thirds of patients are expected to come from outside the State of
Georgia, contributing to the growth and vitality of the local economy;
and
WHEREAS,
CTCA of the Southeast is expected to generate $500 million in economic activity
over the first five years and create approximately 500 new jobs after the fifth
year of operation; and
WHEREAS,
Cancer Treatment Centers of America will be a visible and valued member of the
Newnan and Coweta County communities and the State of Georgia, and it is
abundantly fitting and proper that its outstanding contributions be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Cancer Treatment Centers of America for its work on the
prevention, early detection, treatment, and its goal of the eventual eradication
of cancer and its contributions to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cancer
Treatment Centers of America.
