A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Representative Lynmore James on the occasion of his retirement;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Representative Lynmore James has long been recognized by the citizens of this
state for the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as
evidenced dramatically by his superlative service with the Georgia House of
Representatives; and
WHEREAS,
he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tuskegee University and holds a
degree in building construction; and
WHEREAS,
Representative James has supported his family through farming and was employed
in the quality control division of Ford Motor Company; and
WHEREAS,
he sought active involvement in order to help improve the health care,
education, and economic system in his community and since his election into the
House of Representatives in 1992, Representative James has served on several
House Committees, including Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Appropriations,
Regulated Industries, and Retirement; and
WHEREAS,
he has been a member of the Flag Bank board of directors, the Flint River
Community Hospital governing board, the Georgia Center for Youth Advisory,
Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum, the Fort Valley State University Foundation board,
and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
a man of deep and abiding faith, Representative James is an active member of New
Poplar Springs Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS,
he is united in love and marriage to Faye, and together they are blessed with
three amazing sons, Lynorris, Mack Carlton, and Jeffrey James; and
WHEREAS,
Representative James's significant organizational and leadership talents, his
remarkable patience and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity
to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned him the respect and
admiration of his colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
Representative James has served with honor and distinction with the Georgia
House of Representatives and his vision and unyielding commitment will be sorely
missed upon the occasion of his retirement; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Representative Lynmore James for his efficient, effective,
unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia, congratulate
him upon the grand occasion of his retirement, and extend to him their most
sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
Representative Lynmore James.
