RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Charles Wang; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Charles Wang has received the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement;
and
WHEREAS,
the Siemens Award is given by the College Board and the Siemens Foundation, an
organization that has stepped to the forefront of corporate responsibility by
providing pioneering programs to inspire the nation's next generation of
mathematicians and scientists to succeed; and
WHEREAS,
each year, the foundation recognizes two students in each state for excellence
in AP math and science; and
WHEREAS,
the scholarship award is given to the male and female student earning the
greatest number of scores of five on the AP Exams, which include biology,
calculus BC, chemistry, computer science AB, environmental science, physics C:
electricity and magnetism, physics C: mechanics, and statistics;
and
WHEREAS,
this year's male winner is Charles Wang, who has shown by the example of his
academic accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success
are within the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
Charles Wang has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal
adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic
performance, and he has brought great honor to his school, classmates, and
families; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia takes great pride in the diligent study and preparation
taken by Charles Wang and looks forward in anticipation to the great
achievements he will accomplish in the future.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Charles Wang for being honored with the Siemens Award for
Advanced Placement and express to him their sincere best wishes for continued
academic success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Charles Wang.
