A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Reverend Kenny Grant; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Reverend Kenny Grant serves as pastor of Christ's Community Church in Savannah, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon; visiting the sick; counseling the troubled; baptizing a new believer; or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or humanitarian, or any of the other countless responsibilities of a minister of the Gospel, Reverend Grant has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and

WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Grant is a source of strength, inspiration, and direction for persons in all walks of life and from all economic strata; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding that he and his wife of 29 years, Shirley Richardson, have demonstrated provide the foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members have developed and flourished as evidenced by their four wonderful children and one beloved and delightful granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, a former United States Marine Corps drill instructor, Reverend Grant is a member of A Band of Brothers, a group of business, community, and government leaders who meet each Friday morning for prayer and fellowship in support of Georgia's dedicated military service men and women; and

WHEREAS, this native of Brunswick, Georgia, has given inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and
WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he has made of his life, he makes this world a better place in which to live; it is only fitting and proper that he be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of his life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Reverend Kenny Grant for his unparalleled record of community service and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need; recognize the lifelong, dynamic Christian Ministry of this devout and pious man; and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Kenny Grant.
