A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Ms. Betty Gray; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Betty Gray has dedicated an amazing 54 years molding young minds and challenging students through her work in the field of education; and

WHEREAS, this highly respected professional educator and administrator began her career in Cobb County, Georgia, teaching English at South Cobb High School and continued to serve Cobb County schools as a high school counselor, the assistant principal of Wheeler High School, and the principal of Sedelia Park Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, she believes that her continuing role as a teacher and administrator is to act as an instrument of inspiration and enthusiasm to her pupils and to create a positive learning environment through the encouragement of competitive instincts in students and addressing the special needs of her students by painting the picture of success; and

WHEREAS, she has been committed to the education of children in Cobb County for the past two decades, serving for four terms as a member of the Cobb County School Board; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Gray has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in the teaching profession and her deep personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of her contributions to the students in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily and gratefully commend Ms. Betty Gray for her over five decades of sacrifice, foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia and for the positive influence she has had upon the lives and futures of countless young people in this state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Betty Gray.
