RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Griffin Lodge #1207 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks on the
occasion of its 100th anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Griffin Lodge #1207 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United
States of America was chartered on July 7, 1910; and
WHEREAS,
on July 7, 2010, Griffin Lodge #1207 will celebrate its 100th anniversary and
100 years of diligent and conscientious service to the residents of Griffin,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the members of Griffin Lodge #1207 have a long and proud history of supporting
area-wide youth programs, scholarship programs, veterans programs, the Elks
National Foundation, Grand Lodge programs, Georgia Elks Association programs,
and Georgia Elks Aidmore; and
WHEREAS,
Griffin Lodge #1207 is committed to the Cardinal Principles of the Order, which
are charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity; and
WHEREAS,
members of Griffin Lodge #1207 include dedicated county leaders and prominent
county residents, and working together, the members have made great
contributions to their community and nation; and
WHEREAS,
this exemplary civic organization and all of its outstanding members have given
generously of their time and assets, thereby accomplishing great missions,
contributing tremendously to the quality of life in their community, and
bringing honor and credit to Griffin and the State of Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Griffin Lodge #1207 of the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks for its many accomplishments and contributions, and
extend their congratulations on this the occasion of its 100th
anniversary.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Griffin Lodge
#1207 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
