RESOLUTION
Commending
Mr. Ronald L. Waller for his outstanding public service and inviting him to be
recognized by the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ronald L. Waller has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment
to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this dedicated public servant has devoted numerous hours of his time, talents,
and energy to improving the lives of his neighbors as a member of the first
Bloomingdale City Council, serving since the city incorporated on July 1, 1974;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Waller has devoted over 35 years of service to the Bloomingdale City
Council, serving on the police committee for many years, and was recognized with
a dedication of the police department building in his honor in 2005;
and
WHEREAS,
his leadership and guidance were instrumental on the city council as evidenced
by his reelection 13 times; and
WHEREAS,
a Bloomingdale native, Mr. Waller served as the city's mayor pro tem for 20
years and worked on every city council committee for at least one term;
and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state
have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates;
and
WHEREAS,
although his presence on the Bloomingdale City Council will be sorely missed
upon his retirement, Mr. Waller's influence will be present for future
generations of Bloomingdale residents; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting that this body express its appreciation to Mr. Waller for the
great credit he reflects on his community and this state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Ronald L. Waller for his outstanding service to the City
of Bloomingdale, recognize his many contributions to the Bloomingdale City
Council, and invite him to be recognized by the House of Representatives at a
date and time to be determined by the Speaker of the House of
Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Ronald L.
Waller.
