A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Petite Miss Dacula 2011 Arianna Utreras; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Arianna Utreras has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are within the reach of students in this state; and

WHEREAS, a second-grader at Mulberry Elementary School, Arianna recently earned the prestigious title of Petite Miss Dacula 2011; and

WHEREAS, committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community, Arianna has been an active volunteer at Mulberry Elementary School, serving at the Fifth-Grade Graduation, Breakfast with Santa, and Bingo Night; and

WHEREAS, Arianna has volunteered for the Gwinnett County Relay for Life, Gwinnett County Special Olympics, Walk for Autism Speaks Now, Little Mulberry Park's UnbeLEAFable Day, Gwinnett Recycles, Hands-On Atlanta, Suwanee Music Festival, Walk to Stop Diabetes, Easter Seals Walk, and Pawfest; and

WHEREAS, by the end of her reign as Petite Miss Dacula, Arianna will have volunteered an incredible 200 hours of community service and is in line to receive two gold medals from the President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, all Georgians are proud of young women who, like Arianna, represent the very best that this state has to offer; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and bright future of this remarkable young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Arianna Utreras on being named Petite Miss Dacula 2011 and extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Petite Miss Dacula 2011 Arianna Utreras.
