RESOLUTION
Honoring
and celebrating the 75th birthday of Mary Fulwood; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mary Fulwood was born on February 1, 1937, in Bryan County, Georgia, a beloved
daughter of Solomon Clark and Viola Clark and an adored sister to Victoria
Clark, Lula Mae Fuller, Viola Fulwood, Enoch Clark, Sr., Deacon William Clark,
Frank Clark, Sr., and Willie Clark, Sr.; and
WHEREAS,
Mary Fulwood was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Bryan County School
System until her retirement in 2003; and
WHEREAS,
she was united in love and marriage to the late Deacon Joseph Nathan Fulwood for
53 magnificent years in which they were blessed with 12 remarkable children,
Barbara Lumpkin, Joseph Fulwood, Jr., Marshall Fulwood, Sr., Pamela Prince,
James Fulwood, Sr., Phillip Fulwood, Gary Fulwood, Sandra Williams, Alfred
Fulwood, Lavonda Fulwood, Keith Fulwood, and Diane Fulwood; 22 adored
grandchildren; and 15 wonderful great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mary Fulwood is an active member at Calvary
Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the
foundation and framework of success in which her family has developed and
flourished; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the
vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character
which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she has made
of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is
only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very
special and memorable time of her life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Mary Fulwood on the occasion of her 75th birthday
and wishing her many more years of happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mary Fulwood.
