RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Southside Church of Christ in Valdosta on the occasion of its
60th anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the seeds which were sown by the loving and humble efforts of the devoted
original worshipers of the Southside Church of Christ have blossomed,
establishing a rich tradition and history; and
WHEREAS,
what began as an outreach ministry in 1952 served as the beginning of the
Southside Church of Christ; and
WHEREAS,
since the 1950's the Southside Congregation has progressed tremendously;
and
WHEREAS,
Southside Church of Christ has grown under the divine direction of numerous
ministers over the years, allowing the Word of God to spread throughout the
community; and
WHEREAS,
February 12, 2012, marks the 60th anniversary of the Southside Church of Christ;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message
of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for its innumerable good works
rendered on behalf of persons in need.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the dedicated service the Southside Church of Christ has
accomplished and extend their congratulations on this occasion of their 60th
anniversary.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Southside
Church of Christ.
