A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Ms. Lisa Yeiser; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Lisa Yeiser has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of her neighbors; and

WHEREAS, this dedicated community leader has devoted numerous hours of her time, talents, and energy to improving the lives of the residents of the Capitol View Neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, a ten year resident of the Capitol View Neighborhood, Ms. Yeiser is the cofounder of The B Complex, an artist-owned cooperative that provides affordable work and exhibition space for the Atlanta arts community; and

WHEREAS, as secretary of the Capitol View Neighborhood Association, Ms. Yeiser increased association membership and meeting attendance; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Yeiser was recognized with an APAB Atlanta Neighborhood Achievement Award, which honors citizens who have demonstrated outstanding leadership or service to their community and the City of Atlanta; and

WHEREAS, her leadership and guidance have been instrumental on the board of the After-Five Summer Youth program, where she implemented a youth creative arts project, and as a certified member of the Georgia Adopt-a-Stream program; and

WHEREAS, a graphic designer for the film, television, and video industries, Ms. Yeiser's dedication and vision resulted in the funding and creation of her neighborhood's newsletter, The Capitol VIEW, which is distributed to residents, with a special focus on the neighborhood's seniors and economically disadvantaged who do not have access to the Internet; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting that this body express its appreciation to Ms. Yeiser for the great credit she reflects on her community and this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ms. Lisa Yeiser for her outstanding service to the City of Atlanta, recognize her many contributions to the Capitol View Neighborhood, and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Lisa Yeiser.
