RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Maybell Hughes Williams; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Maybell Hughes Williams was born on May 26, 1921, in Burke County, Georgia,
to Willie and Maybell Parker Hughes, and this year she enjoys the rare
distinction of celebrating her 90th birthday; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Williams is a long-time resident of Hephzibah, Georgia, and dedicated 47
years to the Convent of St. Helena before her retirement in 2009;
and
WHEREAS,
she was united in love and marriage for 53 wonderful years to the late Isiah
Williams, Jr., a union which blessed them with six remarkable children;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Williams is the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and has seen her
family tree extended through five generations with great-great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the
foundation and framework of success in which her family members have developed
and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Williams has been a member of Spring
Grove Missionary Baptist Church for more than 75 years, where she is the oldest
attending member of the church and has served as treasurer of the usher board;
and
WHEREAS,
a kind and generous woman, Mrs. Williams brings joy and happiness to her many
friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing
her; and
WHEREAS, by the example Mrs. Williams has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mrs. Maybell Hughes Williams for her loving and dedicated
service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community,
congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her 90th birthday, and extend to her
best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Maybell
Hughes Williams.
