RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Georgia's 2009 National School Counselor of the Year, Ms. Julie
Hartline; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Julie Hartline has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in Georgia's schools and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the students of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Hartline of Campbell High School in Cobb County, Georgia, has been named as
a 2009 National School Counselor of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
the National School Counselor of the Year contest is sponsored by the American
School Counselors Association and is open to all members of the school
counseling profession; and
WHEREAS,
candidates for this prestigious honor are judged on several criteria, including
creative school counseling innovations, effective counseling programs,
leadership skills, and contributions to student advancement; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Hartline earned a bachelor's degree from Agnes Scott College, a master's
degree from the University of West Georgia, a specialist degree from Georgia
State University, and is currently working towards a leadership degree from the
University of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
a highly respected counselor, Ms. Hartline serves as an example to all in the
field of education with her dedication to guiding her students toward academic
achievement, personal and social development, and career planning, assisting and
inspiring them to become the future leaders of tomorrow; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the students in this state, it is
abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary
commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily and gratefully commend Ms. Julie Hartline for her sacrifice,
foresight, accomplishment, and contributions on behalf of education in Georgia
and for the positive influence she has had upon the lives and futures of
countless young people in this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Julie
Hartline.
