A RESOLUTION

Commending Mrs. Addie Kate Taylor Ellison on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Addie Kate Taylor Ellison was born on April 5, 1911, in Gordon, Georgia, to Patsy Taylor and this year she enjoyed the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellison moved to Eatonton at the age of seven and was raised by her aunt, Dennie Jones, along with her four brothers and sisters; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Ellison is a member of Greater Bells Chapel Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, she attended school at Texas Chapel Church and worked on the Rossee's farm in the Rockville community; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellison was united in love and marriage to her husband, Samuel Ellison, and was blessed with seven remarkable children; and

WHEREAS, she is the proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which her family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellison has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of her lifetime and we salute her contribution to its progress by her own hard work and good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, a kind and generous woman, Mrs. Ellison brings joy and happiness to her many friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing her; and

WHEREAS, by the example Mrs. Ellison has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mrs. Addie Kate Taylor Ellison for her loving and dedicated service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community, congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her 100th birthday, and extend to her best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Addie Kate Taylor Ellison.
