A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend an Act creating the Recorder's Court of Gwinnett County approved March 27, 1972 (Ga. L. 1972, p. 3125), as amended, specifically by an Act approved September 18, 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 432), and an Act approved May 5, 2005 (Ga. L. 2005, p. 3729), so as to revise certain provisions relating to the solicitor-general of Gwinnett County; to provide that the solicitor-general of Gwinnett County shall serve as the prosecuting attorney of the Recorder's Court of Gwinnett County; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act creating the Recorder's Court of Gwinnett County approved March 27, 1972 (Ga. L. 1972, p. 3125), as amended, specifically by an Act approved September 18, 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 432), and an Act approved May 5, 2005 (Ga. L. 2005, p. 3729), is amended by striking Section 6-A and inserting in its place a new Section 6-A to read as follows:

"SECTION 6-A.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A 15-18-66, the elected solicitor-general of Gwinnet County shall be the prosecuting attorney of the Recorder's Court of Gwinnett County. The solicitor-general is authorized to employ such personnel and employees to serve in the Recorder's Court as authorized by the governing authority of Gwinnett County and O.C.G.A. 15-18-71."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
