    2         An act relating to temporary airports; amending s.
    3         330.30, F.S.; providing procedures for the issuance of
    4         a temporary airport license or registration by the
    5         Department of Transportation; providing an effective
    6         date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of section
   11  330.30, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         330.30 Approval of airport sites; registration and
   13  licensure of airports.—
   14         (2) LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS; REQUIREMENTS, RENEWAL,
   15  REVOCATION.—
   16         (c) The department may license a public airport or a
   17  private airport may register as a temporary airport provided
   18  that the airport will not endanger the public health, safety, or
   19  welfare and the airport meets the temporary airport requirements
   20  established by the department. A temporary airport license or
   21  registration shall be valid for less than 30 days and is not
   22  renewable.
   23         1.The department shall conduct a review and detailed
   24  audit, if necessary, of the information submitted by temporary
   25  airport applicants and registrants.
   26         2.The department shall grant site approval for temporary
   27  airports only after the requirements of rule 14-60.005(4),
   28  Florida Administrative Code, have been met. The department is
   29  not required to physically inspect the site.
   30         3.Due to the urgent time requirements often related to a
   31  temporary airport registration or license, the department may
   32  not publish an announcement for public review and comment
   33  regarding its issuance of a temporary airport site approval
   34  order.
   35         4.Temporary airport site approval orders shall take effect
   36  concurrently with the date of issuance of the temporary
   37  registration or temporary license.
   38         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
