1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to an exemption from hunter safety course
3	requirements; amending ss. 379.353 and 379.3581, F.S.;
4	providing an exemption from hunter safety course
5	requirements for a person issued a permit, license, or
6	authorization to take game or fur-bearing animals on
7	private land; directing the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
8	Commission to adopt rules; providing an effective date.

10	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
11
12	Section 1.  Subsection (3) is added to section 379.353,
13	Florida Statutes, to read:
14	379.353  Recreational licenses and permits; exemptions from
15	fees and requirements.-
16	(3)  A person who is issued a permit, license, or
17	authorization to take game or fur-bearing animals on private
18	land is exempt from s. 379.3581.
19	Section 2.  Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
20	379.3581, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
21	379.3581  Hunter safety course; requirements; penalty.-
22	(2)(a)  Except as provided in paragraph (b) and s.
23	379.353(3), a person born on or after June 1, 1975, may not be
24	issued a license to take wild animal life with the use of a
25	firearm, gun, bow, or crossbow in this state without having
26	first successfully completed a hunter safety course as provided
27	in this section, and without having in his or her personal
28	possession a hunter safety certification card, as provided in
29	this section.
30	Section 3.  The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
31	is directed to adopt rules providing for the issuance of a
32	permit, license, or authorization to take game or fur-bearing
33	animals on private land. The rules shall require a person to
34	affirm that the person understands the restriction of the
35	permit, license, or authorization and that the person is of age
36	and knowledgeable in hunter safety.
37	Section 4.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
