DELAWARE STATE SENATE

145th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE BILL NO. 218

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 21 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO COURT COSTS FOR CIVIL TRAFFIC OFFENSES.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:


Section 1.Amend §805, Title 21 of the Delaware Code by striking subsection (d) of that section and replacing it with the following:

"(d)Court costs shall be governed by Justice of the Peace Court rule, consistent with §9801 of Title 10 of this Code."


SYNOPSIS

This change would make court costs for traffic offenses involving civil penalties governed by Justice of the Peace Court rule, consistent with the change to §9801 of title 10 that took effect earlier in the 145th General Assembly.
