HONORING THE LONGSTANDING PARTNERSHIP IN PUBLIC SERVICE

WHEREAS,
Delaware Technical & Community College and the State of
WHEREAS, this partnership is rooted in the Delaware General Assembly's establishment of Delaware Technical & Community College in 1966, when it approved House Bill 529, signed into law by then-Governor Charles L. Terry; and
WHEREAS, Delaware Technical & Community College provides Delawareans with access, opportunity, excellence, and hope to achieve their dreams through education; and
WHEREAS, Delaware Technical & Community College provides Delawareans with affordable access to higher education through more than 100 high-quality academic programs designed to meet the workforce needs of Delaware's businesses; and
WHEREAS,
Delaware Technical & Community College has provided hundreds of
WHEREAS, Delaware Technical & Community College is recognized as an educational leader and valued partner in fields such as healthcare and energy that support the State's economic development initiatives and the well-being of Delawareans; and
WHEREAS, Delaware Technical & Community College demonstrates excellence through nationally-accredited programs and 112 articulation agreements with four-year institutions, including 16 with the University of Delaware and 14 with Delaware State University.
NOW, THEREFORE;
BE IT RESOLVED, by the members House of Representatives of the 145th General Assembly, that the House of Representatives commends Delaware Technical & Community College for its commitment to public service and recognizes the many benefits resulting from the partnership for Delawareans in communities throughout the State.
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution will be presented upon passage to Dr. Orlando J. George, Jr., the President of Delaware Technical and Community College, and to the members of the college's Board of Trustees.
