ESTABLISHING NEW REPORTING DATES FOR THE COMMUNICATIONS TAX REVIEW GROUP. |
WHEREAS, House Joint Resolution No. 3 was passed by the 146th General Assembly and signed into law by the Governor on July 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, House Joint Resolution No. 3 established a Communications Tax Review Group for the purpose of studying and making recommendations for improving Delaware's tax laws applicable to communications providers; and
WHEREAS, House Joint Resolution No. 3 required a report to the House of Representatives on or before March 14, 2012, and such date has proved to be impracticable; and
WHEREAS, the quality of the data and analysis provided by the Communications Tax Review Group would be improved by additional time to complete the report;
NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 146th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the Senate concurring therein, with the approval of the Governor, that the report of the Communications Tax Review Group established by House Joint Resolution No. 3 of the 146th General Assembly shall be due by May 1, 2013 and a status update on the work of the Group shall be due to the General Assembly on or before June 30, 2012.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the membership of the Review Group as set out in House Joint Resolution No. 3 is hereby amended to include a representative from the school districts.

This Joint Resolution extends the reporting date of the Communications Tax Review Group from March 15, 2012, to May 1, 2013.It also requires an informal status update by June 30, 2012. |
