Summary
This Bill adds the requirement of Continued Professional Competency for license renewals, provides for retired engineer status, requires licensure renewal by the date of expiration of the current license, adds violations of the Act and the failure to comply with Continued Professional Competency requirements as a grounds for discipline, adds requirements for applicants who reapply to take the Principals and Practice examination after four failures, clarifies experience and educational equivalence, and allows for Council elections to be conducted by means other than mailed-in ballot. This Bill also removes references to examinations being written and of a certain length of time to permit the use of computer based testing being developed by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying; computer based testing will begin by early 2014.
